The fire in the pub downstairs – friendly bar. The lady didn’t explain how to turn on the heating, so we were cold all night, no TV, no biscuits with tea.

The lunch was lovely. The shower didn’t work, and we didn’t know before arrival that there was no breakfast on Sundays. The walls are so thin that you can literally hear everything from the next room.

Authentic English, fairly clean, but maintenance was mediocre, the dinner was average, there was no breakfast, the price‑quality ratio was poor, even during the Goodwood Revival.

The location was great, yet the rooms had very low beams that kept me bumping my head at night; breakfast was not offered despite a sign stating it would be available from 9am.
