The cleaner was lovely and the room was nice and small. We had to wait hours for check‑in because the person handling it was drunk and kept changing the opening time; we had to wake the poor cleaner at the end.

The location was convenient. The manager seemed intoxicated or drug‑addicted; I couldn’t book in, the front desk said the hotel was closed until 3 pm, then it changed to 4 pm, and I had to find the cleaning lady to wake the drunken manager. There was nowhere to hang clothes in the room and the air‑con didn’t work. I would never recommend anyone stay there; I was in town for a wedding and had no other accommodation available, otherwise I would never have stayed there.

We stayed in Room 3, which had been renovated a few weeks ago. The bathroom and flooring were both new, and the room was pretty clean. The air conditioner was a little funny, though. It wouldn’t seem to stay at the temperature we set and kept resetting itself to cool. Other than that, everything was neat and tidy. We had a little trouble checking in from 2pm, as reception didn’t open until 6pm. We managed to get in touch with the owner at around 5pm, which helped us with the check-in
