“Chaotic”
First things first: this property first caught my eye on Airbnb, yet a few minutes later it got unavailable. When contacted, the host replied with a broken English that it was, in fact, booked. I turned to Booking and found the same listing, dates wide open – it was March 15th for April 3-4th. The night before the check-in, the host sent a message announcing that check-out had been moved from 9pm to 5am (only 2 hours to check-in!) due “technical reasons”, then “clarified” (sarcasm) into “Easter holidays” (what?). It was 6pm when we were on our way to the address. One notification was all the warning we received, uncared if we were aware or okay with the change. The host took her time to reply to our confusion: neither a sincere or pretended apology, she rudely and distantly blamed it on us and said that the accomodation is “specific” and “not a hotel” where we could “come and go anytime we want”… What? We hence put our faith in the customer service. Long story short: we spent over 3 hours in a freezing cold and dark middle of nowhere til 10pm, constantly at the phone with the support (they couldn’t reach out for the host either anyway), which kept us on hold for sessions of half a hour each, repeating the same situation over and over to different operators. We got eventually refunded of the night and checked-in in a different accomodation at 11pm. If it wasn’t for the lack of humanity of a host who treats basic reliability as optional, we would have given the property another chance, as it looks lovely. How unfortunate
