“Carpetes úmidos, quarto muito quente, ar não funcionou”

We had planned to stay three nights, but after sleeping just one night we left and changed hotels. When we entered our room, the carpets were damp and the room smelled bad, it was very hot and the air conditioning didn’t work even though the temperature was set low; the hallway was even cooler than the room itself. The next day they cleaned the room and sprayed a strong cleaning scent on the carpets that made it impossible to stay inside, so we decided to move out. It was a shame because we had already paid everything.

The reception was friendly, but room 108 had a strong mildew smell that was very unpleasant. The restaurant was good, yet some hotel staff talked loudly and we could hear their work conversations that had nothing to do with us.

“Chambre ibis amboise”

The hotel is well situated, quiet, and has an on‑site restaurant. I booked a room with two single beds through the app, but upon arrival I discovered a double bed because we had a disabled guest and the staff had no choice but to give us separate beds. We asked for a room change, but the front desk gentleman was very unpleasant, telling us it was impossible. After proving we had booked a room with two beds, he eventually relented after more than half an hour of discussion, without caring whether the disabled guest was tired. That kind of attitude is unacceptable at a hotel reception, although the rest of the staff were very pleasant.

“PARFAIT”

The staff were genuinely very friendly. The hotel’s location is close to all amenities and near Amboise. The room was well set up and the bedding comfortable, very quiet. Breakfast was very plentiful, varied and excellent. However, two extra towels would have been nice, a small bottle of water was missing, and the TV didn’t always work properly.
