The location was fabulous and the staff were wonderful.
“Ein außergewöhnliches Hotel”
The hotel’s terraced layout from the rooms down to the Nile gives an unforgettable view of the wide‑branching river with its many canals and cross‑connections on every level. We experienced this up close on a boat tour. When we asked, we could have dinner at the hotel; each evening we received a pre‑arranged delicious main course and several side dishes, giving us insight into Nubian cuisine. The friendliness and warmth we felt over our 5‑night stay was an exceptional experience for us.
“The hotel doesnt excist anymore.”
We arrived early in the evening on the day of our booking, but the hotel was completely closed and empty. It turned out the hotel doesn’t exist anymore. We had booked and paid before arrival, but when we got there everything was shut, and no one was there. We had to find another hotel that night and haven’t been able to contact them since. We didn’t get our money back either.

The place is beside the Nile, and the morning views were great; although it isn’t in the city, we had a private car, and the driver knew the routes. The hotel’s murals are cute, the rooms are spacious, but we didn’t get breakfast (we took it to go).
“Could be nice with some improvements”
The buildings and décor are beautiful, and the Nile views are lovely. When we couldn’t find a taxi or Uber, the staff took us to town. Our party of six arrived very late and seemed to have surprised the staff even though we had confirmed reservations. Our rooms weren’t pre‑prepared and we had to request towels, anti‑mosquito plugs, etc. In one room there was no hot water even after turning on the boiler; the water supply was so limited that the toilet stopped flushing. We were grateful to shower in a friend’s room. The breakfast selection was somewhat limited. The location is nice and quiet, but the address on Google Maps is wrong, making it hard to get any transport to or from town. The place has potential to be very nice with some improvements.
