This isn’t a typical hotel but more like a bed‑and‑breakfast. If you want a richer experience with exceptional local people, this place fits. Ann, the manager, is ready to arrange everything you need. The homemade cooking is excellent! The only downside was the many flies, but that’s normal for the area.

The staff were very friendly and pleasant. The only issue was that there was a fitted sheet but no sheets on top of the duvet.

When we arrived, the place wasn’t marked on the map and the staff acted hostile toward our French-speaking guide. The owner was furious, insisting we must use his unlisted guide, harassing our guide late into the night by pounding on our room and threatening us.

The location was great and the staff were friendly, but the breakfast was barely enough. Meals were spotty, sometimes missing entirely, so we had to eat outside nearby. We were told we couldn’t climb Mount Batur alone because of many checks, so we paid cash, yet the trail was actually easy to find on our own. The manager also failed to keep his promise about arranging transport back to Denpasar, but we managed to find it ourselves with a very helpful person.
