Elephant lodge

The staff were very friendly and well‑trained, and the escort service always worked perfectly, making us feel safe and welcome. We also booked a safari to Tarangire National Park through the lodge. The safari with our guide Innocent was a wonderful experience; we understood each other well, saw many animals, and he catered to all our wishes, chose a great route, and was simply a cool guy. We were completely satisfied and can only recommend it! The lodge’s food and our lunch package were excellent – the best food we’ve had in Tanzania. The lodge is relatively expensive and driving there as a self‑driver is a bit difficult, but we would still book it again.

The waterhole was great. The accommodations lack air conditioning. During meals, there was too much “desired” wine with the meat; I didn’t need red wine juice on the beef. I would have preferred more regional food – for example, we had a curry at lunch, and the lunches were always better than the dinners.

“Comfortable and friendly with wildlife on your door step.”

The lodge’s location is ideal for spotting wildlife like elephants and more; the staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were comfortable with roof terraces offering excellent views, and the meals were good. The invoice was confusing because it listed all the taxes and various park fees; it would have helped if these were explained upon arrival so there were no surprises when paying at the end of the stay.

The hotel staff were super friendly, the dinner was very tasty, and watching elephants right outside the lodge while dining was breathtaking! From there you could see elephants, zebras, hyenas, meerkats, and other animals. The safari was great and our guide Innocent did an excellent job, giving everything he could to provide a fantastic safari with many animal sightings.

“Fantastisch!”

The location is very beautiful and unique. Elephants roam everywhere, but the people keep you safe. We traveled here with our almost‑2‑year‑old child; the accommodation isn’t fully child‑friendly, especially with food, but they did their best! The waitresses were absolutely enamoured with our child. We had already expected this, so it’s not a complaint, but if you’re traveling with a little one, be prepared! I also recommend the buggy ride – it’s awesome, and guide Peter is a truly special man!
