“Lovely friendly relaxed atmosphere in great location. Cosy and stylish with wine bar shop & deli.”

The place sits in a great spot and the owner is super friendly. He even runs a wine shop and deli downstairs, which I loved. The room’s décor is tasteful, and the bathroom and furnishings look good. However, breakfast isn’t included, and there’s no kettle in the room—so I had to stroll down the corridor to the shared coffee station. The mattress felt too firm; a topper would have made it more comfortable.

“Very comfortable stay”

The bathroom comes with nice hair toiletries, and the bed is comfortable. Parking is free (you can pay a voluntary 50p fee) and you can cut through the churchyard next to the Swan Pub. A hairdryer is provided, and the space feels private. Lunch at the on‑site Cork and Cru was tasty. On the downside, the information booklet was outdated: the Swan Pub wasn’t serving food when we arrived, Script restaurant was closed, and the communal tea/coffee area was missing—though that might have been a brief glitch. There was no info on how to pay for the honesty items, no sugar, spoons, or unused coffee pods—only four used ones. I liked the idea of having access to tea and coffee, but would prefer those facilities in the room.

The hotel was clean, but it felt like a 5‑star hotel that was nowhere near that level. No staff were visible and everything was completely self‑service.

“Such a comfy night sleep, better than home!”

The room was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable! It would have been nice to have soap and shower gel in the bathroom.
