Smyros Resort

From September 19th to 26th we stayed at Smyros Resort and it was wonderful; the resort sits at the end of the harbor road, so traffic noise is non‑existent, the layout is superb with buildings and pool positioned to blend into the landscape, and although the on‑site restaurant closed for the season the day before, there are highly recommended restaurants within walking distance; the rooms were spotless, air‑conditioned, and beautifully furnished with no missing items, and the owner, his daughter, and staff—especially Sonja—were exceptionally warm and attentive, a level of hospitality I haven’t felt in years; we give this place a definite five‑star recommendation. The only issue was that the beds were a bit too firm for me—firmer than medium‑firm—so a mattress topper would have helped, but none were available, which is the sole suggestion for improvement.

This resort has everything; it was the first time a hotel made me seriously consider staying inside forever. Smyros Resort isn’t like the rest—it doesn’t need grand gestures because it already feels like one, perfectly harmonizing with its surroundings. The nature around it is respected, and the rooms, true to the region’s traditional architecture, are stunning, with incredibly comfortable beds and immaculate cleanliness everywhere. Breakfast is good, the pool area is a dream, and if you prefer the sea, there’s a platform right below for dipping into the crystal waters. Green and blue merge here. What truly sets it apart are the people: Mr Panagiotis, who is always on site and takes care of everyone; the pool girls, Georgia and Eirini, who smile and are ready for anything; the breakfast lady, who is polite and cheerful; and the lady who handles cleanliness. They all deserve a huge thank you for adding value to the whole stay. I won’t post photos of the spaces—many satisfied guests have already done so—but I’ll share something truly magical: sacrifice a morning sleep, head down to the pool or balcony, and watch the sunrise over the Myrtos Sea—it’s an unforgettable experience.

The location is fantastic, the facilities are very pretty and well kept, and the staff are very courteous. Mr Smyros, the owner, is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is plentiful, and we especially enjoyed the delicious loukoumades. The Wi‑Fi in the hotel area needs a boost.
