“Just so disappointed couldn't wait to leave.”
We regret leaving a low rating, but Kevin is a genuinely kind host who must be proud of his site. The caravan itself felt dated and carried an unpleasant smell; the lounge’s main seating had a lingering odor, thin stained cushions, and curtains that were too small for the windows. A tiny fridge’s door wouldn’t close properly and was stuck with a bottle of water, while the freezer had a bolt to keep it shut. It was about 30 °C, and when we asked for fans he said none were provided, forcing us to buy our own on a hot day and night. My husband and I couldn’t share a bed, so I slept on the single mattress that was terrible—every spring was exposed, and I didn’t sleep at all. I tried the lounge L‑shaped settee, but its thin cushions let the hardboard show through, so we bought an airbed to use each night, which was far from ideal. The decking offered lovely views if you can ignore the caravan and nearby junk. The main double bed was comfortable enough, and the towels and bedding were acceptable, but that’s about all the positives. The outside furniture was awful: everything had to be washed before use, the cushions were stained with spiders and snails, the plastic rattan seats were flaking and had sharp bits, and the picnic bench was disgusting, full of moss and grime—no one would sit or eat there. We found weeds and junk everywhere around and under the caravan, making the area look like a junkyard with old caravans and piles of debris. Kevin may not realize how this appears to guests. It’s not a pleasant place to sit, sunbathe, or relax. I’ve attached photos of the area surrounding our caravan for reference.
