Nana looked after us with genuine care, cooking a special meal for us on the last night and serving breakfast every morning. The house is elegant and spacious, set in a pleasant spot about a 15‑minute walk from town centre. Our room came with an en‑suite, while other rooms were room‑only with a shared bathroom. The shower worked fine, though the water was the usual cool temperature. Fans were the only cooling option, which was fine for Hatton. Nana was happy for us to use his kitchen and make tea, etc.

The house is modern and roomy, and we could use the upstairs living room and outdoor patio, which was very relaxing with a pot of tea that our host brewed. The room was comfortable and offered interesting views of a neighbour’s yard and the surrounding tea plantations. Breakfast was plentiful, and the omelets we ordered were tasty. Walking to town centre takes about 15 minutes. Our host kindly suggested a trip to Aberdeen waterfall and even arranged a tuktuk for us. Overall, Ulpatha offers great value for money.

The rooms are spacious and clean, with lovely views. Nana was very welcoming and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend staying here! No complaints.
