Lunet Old City Hotel

“A bit pricey but worth every penny”

I loved my previous stay at Lunet Old City Hotel so much that I returned; the proximity to Aksaray bus station, which connects directly to Istanbul International Airport, the comfy beds with good mattresses, sound insulation, thoughtful room design, and amenities like the sewing kit all impressed me; breakfast was delicious, plentiful, and served in a room with a sea view; the staff were polite and helpful, the front desk spoke fluent English, I received an upgraded room again upon arrival and a lovely tote bag as a welcome gift, and a free mini‑bar in my room was a pleasant surprise; the only issues were a few breadcrumbs under one armchair and a toilet seat lid that made ear‑shredding sounds whenever I moved it, but otherwise everything was fine and I would love to return one day.

The property was clean, well‑maintained, and easy to reach by public transport; the staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay, and the location made it convenient to reach the city’s main attractions, so overall I had a comfortable stay and appreciated the staff’s helpfulness; the biggest downside was the surrounding neighbourhood, where I didn’t feel safe or comfortable, especially at night, with apparent drug use and other activities nearby, and some nearby hotels and businesses seemed linked to prostitution, making the area feel unsuitable; the cleanliness of the neighbourhood also fell short of expectations, and given the price I expected a much better and more pleasant environment, so the hotel’s price‑to‑value ratio was a significant drawback.

“Excellent boutique hotel”

The small boutique hotel is close to metro, bus, and tram; we booked a king‑size room that offered plenty of space; the rooms are clean, new, and feature a large, comfy bed; it’s very quiet at night; breakfast is basic but adequate for us; there’s also a rooftop terrace with an amazing view and free water and coffee; the entire staff are the best, always smiling, welcoming, and helpful; highly recommend!

A breath of fresh air amid all the other hotels around it, the style and attention to detail are spot on. The staff are friendly and attentive. Rooms are clean, and the linens and towels are excellent. I’ve stayed here several times already and still recommend it.
