“A nice boutique hotel with terrific food, pool and service.”

The manager and staff were extremely accommodating after they discovered that our bookings.com reservation wasn’t legitimate and they had no record of us arriving, yet they still let us stay; the service and food were terrific and the pool was amazing. The fact that the bookings.com confirmation was not legitimate and that much of the hotel seemed under renovation for peak season—unfinished items, no TVs—was a minor issue; the biggest surprise was how hard it was to find the place because the booking wasn’t real and the surrounding area was not appealing, but that made the hotel feel like an oasis, except for all the trash in the lake.

“Schönes Hotel auf ruhigerer Westseite Luxors”

The place was new, spotless, with a nice layout and friendly staff, but the last 200 m to the hotel is just a sandy road.

“Beautiful hotel in bad surroundings”

The hotel itself looks lovely, well kept, and the view of the small lake is beautiful; the beds are comfortable, the staff are friendly, and the owner is kind and charming. However, the location is awful—surrounded by garbage, locals dump trash at the “beautiful lake,” and the area is littered everywhere. On the map it seems close to the Nile promenade, yet it sits on a back street with no asphalt, behind other houses, and no proper street access to the promenade. Walking means trudging on a dirt road through trash, or driving with your eyes and nose closed. From the rooftop there is no view of the Nile, contrary to what someone mentioned in their review; you only see some buildings, the other side, a mountain, and the lake, which is clean in front of the hotel but full of trash 20 m further. This amount of trash around the hotel is very disturbing.
