“Hatten mehr erwartet”
We were rebooked into Hotel Goldner Stern in Muggendorf upon arrival, so this review mainly concerns that hotel. The sports hotel looks run down from the outside, giving the impression it might be torn down soon. On site there are only key safes whose codes must be requested by phone. Breakfast is offered with a small selection at the sports hotel after check‑in or at Goldner Stern in Muggendorf. The breakfast in Muffendorf was a normal selection, nothing special. The coffee machine was constantly broken. Communication with staff, especially at the reception of Goldner Stern, was difficult because they spoke very poor German. The staff in the economy section also had language problems when taking orders. The comfort rooms at Goldner Stern were a spider paradise, very warm. At night with the window open, the cooling units of the cold room were a loud constant companion, and there were no fly screens, so mosquitoes were in the room. Either open the window and cool the room at night and get stung, or close the window and you can’t sleep in the oven. The hotel claims 4 stars, which I cannot confirm in comparison; 2½ would be more appropriate. The price is still just okay.
