The spot was great, close enough to Mindelo that I walked there every day; there were a few shops and a restaurant nearby, it was quiet, and I could hear the sea from my room. The beach was only a few meters away. Warm water and a simple yet tasty breakfast. The owner was friendly and spoke English plus another language. The room was warm and dated, but I did get a fan. I couldn’t open the windows or doors at night because the mosquitoes were relentless.

The property doesn’t feel like a true four‑star hotel—not the room, not the outdoor area, and certainly not the breakfast, which wasn’t a buffet; the room has a WC but the door is glass, which makes little sense, and the breakfast was overly basic, the room was never cleaned, the WC door was transparent glass, and hot water was hit‑or‑miss.
