The person who welcomed us was really great, suggesting a sea fishing trip that we enjoyed; we stopped at a tiny island with no crowds, and the price was much better than other places. The room was very well equipped yet simple and comfortable, the setting was quiet and cute. The breakfast (omelette or pancakes) was delicious.

The staff were adorable, the garden was very pretty, the bed was comfortable, and tap water was free and plentiful. There were nice snorkeling spots. However, the proximity to a mosque bothered us for the first time in weeks. The room was very dark, had no furniture to put things on (and ants on the floor made it annoying to place our stuff), the shower water smelled strongly of sewage for a minute at the start, the bathroom had a general bad odor, and the pancakes at breakfast were not great—they were undercooked. Overall, the island isn’t worth staying on; it’s so dirty that it’s barely tolerable (we’re used to traveling). You should see the back of the Instagram photos. We cut our stay short by two nights.

Ezi helped us book our snorkelling tour and assisted with onward travel. The room is basic, just a double bed and an air‑con unit, so expect no bedside table, cupboard or table (we brought our own). Electricity cut out one afternoon, so no air‑con, but that was usually not a problem if you’re out during the day.
