“Atholl l Arms”
The Atholl Arms Hotel is a historic coaching inn from 1833, offering a traditional atmosphere steeped in Scottish history and character. On arrival, a friendly and professional receptionist welcomed us and ensured a smooth check‑in at 3 pm. We stayed in a twin room with en‑suite facilities and a small television. While the hotel’s historic charm is part of its appeal, certain areas of the room would benefit from refurbishment to bring them up to a more modern standard. The shower was very good, providing a comfortable flow of warm water, although a slightly higher temperature would have been preferable. Breakfast was of a very good standard and was served in an impressive hall featuring considerable Scottish historical character, which added a distinctive touch to the experience. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable. The welcoming staff, quality breakfast and unique historic surroundings contributed to a pleasant visit. Although some aspects of the accommodation could benefit from modernisation, we would be happy to return to the Atholl Arms Hotel in the future. There was some dust behind the bedstead and the mattress could do with an upgrade.
