Both the accommodation and the food were outstanding, though it’s a shame the place will close next year; the door lock isn’t electronic, which feels quite old‑fashioned.

I enjoyed a relaxing stay and found the staff at the front desk to be very kind. Because it was my first time in Wakayama, I struggled to get from the Prefectural Museum of Modern Art to the hotel; the phone directions were confusing, and a man who arrived at the museum ended up showing me the way.

The room impressed me with its CD player, artwork, and thoughtful wooden accents that really made me feel I was in Wakayama. The only drawback was that dinner wasn’t easy to arrange—Italian reservations had to be made two days ahead, so last‑minute dining was tough, though the staff did recommend a great place where I enjoyed a wonderful meal.
