I didn’t have breakfast because I was under a time scale, and I had to leave earlier than expected, but everything else met my expectations. The only minor gripe: we passed the place a couple of times before finding it, and we could see the sign telling us where the house was.

The location is ideal on the route from Belfast to Donegal, and it’s great for a quick bus trip to Derry. There’s fresh milk in the little fridge, and I appreciate not having to ask for more tea bags wherever I stay.

The host was welcoming, parking was easy, and I slept well. The shower had very poor water pressure, breakfast was a pricey extra, and there was nowhere nearby to eat dinner or grab coffee.

The apartment is gorgeous, with a stunning lake view, plenty of space, and it’s spotless. The kitchen is fully stocked, both bedrooms have their own bathroom, and the staff were very friendly and explained everything. I would definitely recommend it.

The surroundings were gorgeous and Margaret made me feel right at home; the bed and en suite were spot‑on for my two‑night stay.
