Rami was an excellent host and the rest of the staff were very friendly, and the view was fantastic; however, the room we booked as “Room with Hot Tub” was advertised incorrectly—photos showed a balcony with an outdoor tub and a swing, but the staff told us the tub was inside the room, a mistake that had apparently happened before. I showed them the app, and they offered us the expected room for the first night, but on the second night we were moved to the indoor‑tub room, which wasn’t what we had booked; otherwise, everything else was fine.

The renovated furnishings and structure make this pleasant co‑living spot overlooking the sea, and thanks to the total refresh of the décor, the suite with hot tub we chose was charming, the host was helpful, and breakfast was excellent; yet, until the bathroom is rebuilt, the room still doesn’t justify its price—it’s dark, lacks a shower box, floods, and feels old.

“Great stay for great getway”

The views are breathtaking once you reach the main entrance, and the hub itself is a milestone to reach; the rooms were clean, well‑equipped, and located off the main road, so you either need a local tuktuk or a 20‑minute walk from the guest house to Weligama’s main road. The toilet had no basin inside, forcing us to walk out onto the balcony to wash our hands each time, which was inconvenient; we were also charged card‑payment taxes at check‑in without prior notice or signage at reception.

The location is fantastic and the view is great, but not every room actually has the private terrace bath shown in the resort’s pictures.

The balcony and location were amazing and the staff were welcoming, but the balcony door lock was broken and the beds could have been a bit larger.
