Our stay with Akira-san was a true testament to exceptional hospitality. He went above and beyond as a host, tending to us with incredible patience and providing an unforgettable cultural experience. For dinner, he prepared a traditional Japanese irori (囲炉裏, 居炉裏) and shared wonderful stories about himself. Afterward, he built a bonfire so we could sit outside and watch the stars. To top it off, Akira-san let us try his private sauna, which was a lovely way to relax in the peaceful night. In the morning, we were surprised with a delicious homemade breakfast served right next to a beautiful view. Facilities-wise, his house is incredibly homely, comfortable, and spotless, with a notably deluxe bathroom

The property’s beautiful location and old traditional charm, along with spectacular views and atmosphere, were complemented by the most wonderful, hospitable couple who went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. The meals were amazing, full of variety, and matched restaurant quality. The facilities were exactly what I wanted: a traditional Japanese experience with all the modern amenities needed. The only downside is that for those wanting to be close to the Hakuba ski slopes it is a 35‑minute drive; however, if you’re after a unique experience beyond the usual western tourist route, the drive is worth it and the scenery on the way is not disappointing.

“Worth every penny, comfy as home”

The breakfast view and food were fantastic, Ito San was super nice and thoughtful, and his excellent management made our stay feel like home.

古民家ですが、思っていた以上にとても綺麗で、ご主人の伊東さんはお料理もお上手な、とてもお優しい方でした。朝の景色も最高でした。
