Antique M1 R1 Double Room shared bath Marques Pombal

“A terrible experience—cockroaches in the shower and in my bed. The only good thing was the location.”

The place is well situated, offers good value, and the kitchen is fully equipped; surprisingly, there were no cockroaches. However, cockroaches and ants were crawling in the bed and bathroom, and the room needs a renovation.

“Bed Bags”

The location was good. A day after returning home, my whole body started itching; bed bugs were in the bed and cockroaches in the bathroom, and the pest control measures were insufficient.

“Habitacion sucia pero bien ubicada”

The location is very good, but otherwise not much. The cleaning is awful, the beds had bedbugs that bit us, the sheets were stained, there were ants, and the shared bathrooms were always quite dirty. Also, the blinds on the only window could not be lowered, so light poured in early in the morning.

“simple, cheap, central. Great place to stay.”

A cheap room right in the middle of Madrid, and the neighborhood comes alive with a massive flea market every Sunday. Supermarkets and restaurants are within walking distance, and the shower in the room was a lifesaver during the hot summer days. The room itself is simple but nice. The only hiccup was that self‑check‑in required a Spanish phone number, but since the place is busy, you usually get in quickly even without one.

The place is easily reachable. The stay was not very satisfying. The room door was obviously fragile: the handle, lock, and glass were old and seemed insecure. The curtain used to hide behind the door was in terrible condition. We were also surprised to find a sign in the bathroom indicating which room should handle the rotation cleaning. Cleaning of common areas should be the property’s responsibility, not the guests’. That’s not what you pay for.
