“Pas cher, mais pas confortable non plus”

It’s a bit out of the city centre but still easy to reach on foot, so we enjoyed a quiet stay even though the main road is nearby. The owners are friendly and helpful, and they run a restaurant, so we didn’t need to go into town for dinner. The room is tiny, barely enough space for a bag, with no window for ventilation. We’re next to a small river that’s actually the city’s sewer, so the smell is awful and mosquitoes are everywhere. The bed mattress is uncomfortable.

“Hidden away gem”

The mum was fantastic and very helpful. The rooms were isolated and away from the main street, which was perfect. Nothing else to note—this was great value for money. Oh, and there was no WiFi.

What I tasted was very good, but boiled or mineral water isn’t used in the preparation, so I didn’t feel comfortable eating food that wasn’t fully cooked. There were no top sheets unless you asked for them. The rooms are on the lower floors, below street level.

“Muy mala experiencia en este hotel.”

Of the two rooms we had booked and were confirmed for, only one was available. The hotel staff didn’t help us at all in finding alternative hotels in Ella at 19:00, a place we didn’t know. We wished the two rooms we had booked were available.

The owners were really nice, the room was clean, and breakfast was huge. The internet didn’t work, neither theirs nor ours.
