Hotel Le Phare is in an excellent location for catching the ferry, which is the main reason we often stay there. It has convenient parking outside, allows pets to stay and has a good restaurant. Price was very reasonable. The bathroom was clean but a bit tired and could do with an upgrade and redecoration. In particular the shower had rather weak pressure.

The breakfast offered regional and organic items with a view of the harbor and a lovely veranda to eat on; the room was quiet at night and had a partial port view. But I could hear all the water from the neighbors’ showers and toilets starting at 7 am, the bathtub was extremely slippery with a rusty handle, the toilet paper roll kept falling to the floor, and the tap was hard to turn. The carpet had big stains… at €140 per night that’s unacceptable; you can get a kettle and a quiet room for half that price. A pity.

The hotel sits right next to the ferry terminal, which was a relief after a long journey. The budget room worked for a one‑night stop, but I’d upgrade for a longer stay; the value was great, and breakfast was excellent. Our dog was welcomed, which mattered to us, and there was plenty of parking nearby. No complaints about the hotel.
