Thang Long Opera Hotel

The hotel sits in Hanoi’s financial district, two streets from Hoan Kiem Lake, and walking to the lake, Beer Street, and Train Street is a breeze. On Friday‑Sunday nights, transport remains available even though some streets around the lake close. The room was a Twin with the beds pushed together to make a full bed, but the doona cover only barely reached the top of the mattress. There was just one bedside table, and the power and light switches were in the middle of the bed, so I couldn’t charge my devices within arm’s reach while lying down.

Everything was liked—convenient location near the lake but a bit away from the main traffic, tasty varied breakfasts, very polite and friendly staff who even remembered to wish guests happy birthday, a handy lobby bar, and a restaurant with high-quality cooking. The only improvement would be brighter lighting in the room at night.

“Good choice”

The hotel sits just a short walk from Hoan Kiem lake and the Old Quarter, with plenty of restaurants nearby and a convenience store around the corner. Nothing else to note.

The breakfast area is spacious and conveniently located near the elevators. The reception and front‑door staff are helpful and friendly, though the food selection is limited and some pastries and stir‑fry options don't look fresh.
