“Czwarte piętro , z odchodami kotów na klatce , ale z wygodnym materacem .”
The hotel is close to the real Giza, with two fantastic bars 200‑300 meters away, a terrace view of the pyramids, a bit obstructed by antennas but manageable. You have to ask for room cleaning and towel changes, but the air‑conditioning works, the shower is large, and the bed is really big and comfortable. Overall the reception and corridors were clean. We waited three days for a toilet flush repair, even though we paid for one day and for the guests who stayed before us; I had to call Mostafa at 5 pm for someone to come, change the bedding, and give clean towels—Mostafa apparently doesn’t read messages and replies after a few hours, but when I said I had left the money for the extra stay at the porter’s desk, he replied immediately. It’s more of a hostel with reception on the fourth floor and no elevator. Cat droppings were left in the stairwell corners for over a week before someone cleaned them, and except for one person, the staff didn’t speak English. Breakfast only had fries, falafel, flatbread, and a bowl of beans—no variety, but luckily there are many cheap restaurants nearby. If you want breakfast, you have to inform the staff at 10 am, yet we still waited 45 minutes sometimes. I woke up at 5 am and asked the receptionist to silence her phone because she was texting loudly, which made it impossible to sleep; she lowered it but the next night it kept ringing. Words fail… The location and price are the main selling points, though there was a misunderstanding because one price was on the reservation and at the hotel we had to pay an extra 1/3 for additional costs—Booking told me these were extra fees, so if they know about it, the price should have been full from the start. As compensation I received €25 from Booking. The area around the hotel is 120 % real Egypt—dirty, loud, but most people are friendly. If you want peace, avoid every souvenir shop invitation; sometimes “la szokran” helps. We liked it; I have friends who wouldn’t come there for any money.
