The staff were really friendly and quick to help, which made the stay pleasant. Unfortunately the linens felt cheap and the rooms didn't block noise well, and the mattresses were a bit too firm for my liking. Overall, decent service but the comfort could use an upgrade.

The spot is cheap and well‑located, and the owner is genuinely welcoming. I was annoyed to find the 24‑hour front desk locked when I arrived late – I booked specifically for that service. To make matters worse, the shower only gave cold water. Not the best experience overall.

Marcos was an absolute gem – super friendly, always ready to lend a hand, and he made checking in a breeze. The hostel sits right in the heart of Pelourinho, so restaurants, sights and nightlife are just steps away. The building is old, with a bell‑operated entry that can be awkward, and the kitchen access is a bit bureaucratic, which was a hassle. Still, the great host and prime location outweighed those quirks.

I told them I'd be early, rang the bell twice and even shouted “hey, I'm here,” but nobody answered and I couldn't check in. The reception was basically non‑existent. That left me stranded at the property.

The hostel sits right at the start of Pelourinho, perfect for walking around, checking out shops and the main sights; João was super helpful and made me feel at home. The room was spacious and the shower was surprisingly strong, like a mini waterfall. Be warned: the building is a historic house with a ton of stairs, so lugging luggage or having leg issues can be tough, and the rooms are mixed‑gender only.
