I had another fantastic stay at Hotel Paradiso, feeling even closer to the sea waves than anywhere else, and I’m grateful to the entire team—reception, breakfast, housekeeping—for everything.

The balcony offered a view of the Black Sea. But it felt like a retirement home under Ceaușescu. The room smelled of cigarettes, had no shampoo or shower gel, and the shower bar kept falling on my head. The main door had to be locked to stay closed. The parking lot isn’t reserved for the hotel and is always full. Elevators are often broken or delayed for long minutes. Finally, I ended up with severe food poisoning… I spent 24 hours in the hospital under observation after returning. I had to make a bank transfer after my return because they didn’t have my card details… and they had the nerve to call me a thief.

The staff were hardworking, friendly, well trained, and managed professionally; the food was tasty and diverse, the cleaning impeccable, the garden well arranged, the pool elegant and clean, and extra requests like ordering a taxi were resolved quickly; I also had direct access from the hotel to a professional treatment base and the hotel pharmacy. From my room I could see the sunrise, sunset, and moonrise, and the sea was just a few steps away, always present. However, the beach near the hotel, though called Paradiso, is managed by Romanian Waters and isn’t maintained by anyone: trash cans are missing, it isn’t cleaned or leveled at night—only after the director’s intervention did the Municipality clean it once; there are no umbrellas or loungers, no permanent lifeguard, and guests have to treat it as a wild beach.

Breakfast was pretty good, and the location was quiet.

Cleanliness, friendly staff, good food. The gym was not functional.
