The Eltermere Inn, situated in the heart of Langdale Valley, boasts stunning views over Lake Eltermere. This historic country house features individually decorated luxury rooms with scenic views, flat-screen TVs, and designer bathrooms. The restaurant serves modern European cuisine using locally sourced produce, while the bar offers free Wi-Fi and a log fire. A snug country house tucked in a quiet, picturesque valley, with a solid bar and restaurant. The bed was very comfortable and the room was huge (executive double). I wish there had been a coffee machine and a radio in the room, and the bar also lacked a coffee machine.

Stunning location, historical building tastefully decorated, comfy beds, very clean, friendly and helpful staff, great evening meal, wonderful and wide selection of breakfast. I think our room was in the far reaches of the system so we had to run the hot water tap for a few minutes before we got the hot water. But not a huge complaint. Not really fond of the coffee in the room

The hotel has a lot of character, and even though it's old, the facilities are top‑class. Breakfast was fantastic and the restaurant excellent. There are many stairs, but that’s fine for people younger than us.

The food was great, the restaurant was unhurried, the lounge comfortable, the location lovely, and the staff friendly and helpful. Our bathroom needed serious maintenance (loose tap, slow‑draining shower), and it wasn’t really set up for walkers even though it’s in a walkers’ paradise (no drying room for wet clothes and boots). It could use an EV charging point; there were four EVs in the car park, including ours.
