Walking to the restaurants was a breeze, but the building felt like a maze of tiny corridors, and the area stayed noisy well into the night. I stepped on someone’s nail clipping as soon as I entered, and there was tear and dirt in the seat crevice. The soap dispenser in the shower was positioned too low, making it hard to shower, and dust was everywhere it should have been spotless.

I remembered Travellodge better than elsewhere; the hotel is very plain, as these places usually are, but the bed was large and comfortable, and there was a free parking spot. Walking to the city centre takes 15 minutes. Compared to the Talbot‑Hotel at €125 per night, Travellodge offers the same price for noticeably less value, making it clearly overpriced.

The staff greeted me warmly and the rooms were clean, but I would have liked the location to be a bit closer to the town centre.

Noel, the receptionist, was very friendly, and the hotel matched the typical Travelodge experience. However, there were hairs on the sheets so they had to change the bed, and the bath wasn’t very clean, though the beds were comfortable enough to sleep in.
