“Excellent hotel in the Karavansary complex in Turkestan - lovely staff and well appointed rooms”
We tried to check in at the Family Hotel but were told we’d been “upgraded” to the Harbour Hotel because they were overbooked. A free shuttle on a gold buggy took us between the two. The staff were lovely and very friendly. We couldn’t dine at the restaurant at dinner because there was a buffet, but we could order room service from the menu. No other issues. Breakfast was fine, nothing special by Western standards but enough to leave you satisfied—probably very generous and good for Kazakhstan. The room was well appointed, the air‑con worked well, and there were plenty of little extras in the bathroom, including a scrubbing shower glove.
