Kyoto Tower and Shosei-en Garden are within walking distance, and Kyoto-Minami Interchange is a 15-minute drive.

The luggage storage uses lockers, and when I arrived at 11 am most of them were already occupied, so checking one was a hassle and I ended up not using the service; I also saw people leaving theirs unlocked, which should be fixed.

I liked that there was a water bar and the large public bath was roomy and pleasant, plus the sofa in the lounge was a nice touch for relaxing, especially given the unbeatable price for a place right next to the station. However, because the building was under renovation the entrance felt cramped and the check‑in area was crowded, making it feel tight, and the cleaning on the second night wasn’t thorough enough – only the bed‑making and trash removal were done.

A big hotel right by the station. The rooms are small but comfy, with a view of the square behind the station. Breakfast is great, with a wide selection. The Japanese bath is stunning – huge, with super hot water, a jacuzzi, and a cold water tub. Everything else is fine, though the range of available amenities could be better.

The breakfast buffet was tasty, yet the big public bath was so crowded it wasn’t comfortable at all, which was a real let‑down, so from the second day I just used the shower in my room; I also missed having a freezer in the room’s mini‑fridge.

The location is fantastic. Sitting in the café is a pleasure. The hotel is clean and airy. The staff are courteous.
