I fell in love with this Guest House; the family‑like welcome was fantastic, the hosts were very friendly, the room was gorgeous, the breakfast was perfect, and the view was exceptional – highly recommend.

“Superb with wonderful owners”

I stayed at a superb B&B where the mother and son were incredibly helpful; the room was spacious and beautifully decorated with handmade embroidered sheets and curtains from the mother, and the bed, shower, and toilet were all excellent. The breakfast was the best I’ve had in Albania, complete with bread, and the location is a 10‑15 minute walk to the castle. The house offered a stunning view and breakfast was served on a balcony, and the mother made delicious sour cherry jam – I highly recommend it. The only downside is that the location is a bit hard to find, especially with Google Maps not being accurate near the town, and the roads up to the mountain are steep with many forks; there are signs saying “Hamso house” but we missed one, so a map or a picture of a map with the reservation would help.

This Guesthouse is run with great care, the host is an elderly Albanian lady radiating warmth and kindness that makes you feel like having an grandma; we had a medical emergency at night and needed to go to a clinic, but the host didn’t leave us alone, she called her son who came, translated for us, and stayed until the treatment finished – thank you again for your hospitality. From the accommodation you get a beautiful view of the Gjirokastra castle, the breakfast is varied and lovingly prepared, and you can also dine there. The room is spacious, wonderfully furnished, and very, very clean – if you want to feel at home on vacation, this is the place. The only tip for getting there is not to follow Google Maps but ask the restaurant owners in the town; they’ll gladly show you the way because Google Maps leads to an unpaved road.

“Wspaniałe miejsce na pobyt z widokiem na zamek”

Urzekła mnie niezwykła gościnność i życzliwość Gospodarzy. Pokój był urządzony ze smakiem w połączeniu tradycji z nowoczesnością. Śniadanie podane na balkonie z cudownym widokiem było przepyszne. Warto docenić też możliwość zamówienia innych posiłków w dobrej cenie. Polecam to miejsce!. Brak czajnika w pokoju (jednak można zamówić napoje u Gospodarzy), brak możliwości otworzenia okna w pokoju na dole (jednak w każdej chwili można korzystać na górze z widokowego balkonu)
