The place itself is gorgeous – brand‑new construction with a huge room that even has its own bathroom. We loved the little patio with a hammock, and every morning the Belize‑style breakfast was served on the sea‑view terrace. Nothing else to complain about.

From the moment Luis greeted us, the stay felt effortless; he handed us all the local info we needed and kept the breakfast table stocked with tasty dishes, even whipping up gluten‑free sweet‑potato fritters for me. The hotel sits right by a handful of great eateries (don’t miss Reyna’s) and just steps from the water, and our “Sunshine” room was roomy, comfy, and came with a front‑yard hammock. I’d definitely book Yocamatsu again if I return to Caye Caulker.

Luis was waiting for us when we arrived and made us feel welcome right away, and the room was comfortable and just a stone’s throw from Stingray Beach. The only oddity was the sink knob – it’s positioned in a weird spot and hard to reach. Otherwise the property is wonderful.

This is a truly family‑run spot with a very friendly host who offered plenty of handy tips, and the place was spotless throughout our stay. No complaints at all.

Every morning I enjoyed breakfast on the rooftop with an ocean view, and Luis always made sure I had tea and salsa with my meal. Bryan (and Maria) gave solid recommendations for things to do and places to eat, and I loved having a hammock on the balcony plus a mini‑fridge in the room; the bed was comfortable and I felt safe traveling alone. The only downside was that the dogs on the property would bark at night and sometimes wake me up.
