Checking in by car was easy, and the adjoining Bistro was outstanding. All good.

There is ample parking and the location is quiet, but the accommodation is very basic and feels more like a prison cell. The shower area is riddled with black mold, the beds are damaged, and you’re basically paying for the proximity to the tunnel.

Getting in was a breeze even though we arrived late, and the hotel looked tidy. The staff, however, were quite impatient. The cleaning lady waited outside our room at 9:20, even though checkout was at 10, and when I stepped out to fetch something from our car she tried to hurry us along. After grabbing a quick coffee and retrieving our bags, she shouted at us at 10:04 for not clearing the room. We had just finished a long day of driving on our road trip, so the rush was uncomfortable.
