“Værelset og caféen trak op, resten ned”
The room was large and clean, the beds were good, and the hotel’s café was really good; Tiny Wave also served good food. The outdoor pool wasn’t ready when we arrived, and although they had a covered pool that was ready, it was cold and the surrounding area was dirty. They promised the outdoor pool would be ready the next day, but it wasn’t; only after I mentioned we wanted to check out early if the pool wasn’t ready did it suddenly become available. We chose not to eat the pre‑purchased breakfast because we had stomach issues upon arrival and much of the food was unheated and it didn’t seem they were restocking. We didn’t risk eating there, so we ate nice warm food at the café. Unfortunately the stay didn’t end positively. We asked them to arrange transport from the hotel to Abra, but when the car arrived our luggage couldn’t even fit. They insisted a child had to sit with crossed legs for over an hour at 4500 pesos, which made me furious! It may be that child safety isn’t a priority in the Philippines, but it is in Northern Europe. They “thought” we had small luggage, yet their staff cleaned our room every day and still judged the size of our luggage. Luckily the driver was kind and friendly, so he managed to restore the mood.
