Cha Am is a relaxed seaside town on the Gulf of Thailand, 170 kilometers south of Bangkok. The town centers on a wide, five-kilometer beach lined with pine trees and Ruamjit Road. A short history
Cha Am originated as a quiet fishing settlement named Ban Cha-Am. In 1923, King Rama VI commissioned the construction of Mrigadayavan Palace along its coast, transforming the area into a retreat for Thai royalty and elite families. Unlike neighboring Hua Hin, Cha Am preserved its agricultural and fishing roots, evolving into a preferred holiday spot for domestic weekenders from Bangkok.
