The photos mislead you; the hotel feels old and the pool is tiny and smack in the middle of everything. Breakfast didn’t start until after 7:00 am, not even coffee, which is a real hassle. The pool’s awkward placement makes the whole place feel cramped. The building’s age and the misleading pictures make it feel overpriced for what’s actually offered.

Stayed for two nights in La Fortuna during the rainy season and it was spot on. Everything stayed dry, clean and comfy, and the in‑house wine bar and restaurant kept us fed even when the rain was pouring.

They offer free water in the room and a drink at one of the bars, which is a nice touch. Breakfast is à la carte when it's quiet, otherwise it's a buffet. The pool is a pain – no loungers and it backs onto a restaurant, so you can't relax, and the room itself is cramped with a small bed.
