The host, the food, and the location were great, especially being close to the gorilla trekking trail. The place was very basic, the bathroom wasn’t very clean, and the shower had almost no water pressure.

We spent three nights at this guesthouse, and it stood out as a highlight during our month‑long trip to Rwanda and Uganda. Cylia and her team were flawless hosts; the room was very spacious, meals were served in a separate area on the property, and Cylia arranged a local guide, Amos, who took us on a morning birding walk and an afternoon cultural visit to the Batwas, including their school. The guesthouse’s location in Ruhija village was also extremely convenient.

Cilya is a fantastic host and a lovely person! I enjoyed spending a few days with her, chatting by the fire on her veranda. Her work for the community is beautiful, and we’ll keep supporting her. The accommodation is nice and just a stone’s throw from the gorilla trekking entrance. Highly recommended!

Cylia is extraordinary, helpful, and endearing. She assisted me a lot with planning and arranging my arrival and departure. The meals were delicious, and I felt very comfortable.
