I was drawn by the low price and it definitely delivered on that front, but the room and bathroom were far from spotless – you could see the grime right away. Cheap, but not clean.

The place is in a handy spot, but the building feels like it’s been left to the elements – it was sweltering inside and the décor looks pretty worn down. Not the best when you’re trying to relax.

Staying here puts you right on the main street of Santa Marta’s historic and commercial center – everything’s within walking distance. The downside is the city’s drainage problems, which can make the streets messy after rain.
