Located in the heart of scenic Portaria, the 19th-century mansion-turned-design hotel Despotiko offers luxurious rooms with Mount Pelion or Pagasitikos Gulf views. Each room features cable LCD TV, marble bathrooms with luxury amenities, and free Wi-Fi. Some units have fireplaces, while a traditional breakfast buffet serves local treats. A children's playroom and stone patio with plane tree are also available.

The staff are quiet and the area is peaceful. The hotel looks dirty and old, and the price is terribly high for the condition of the rooms. For example, €160 a day for a room that has spilled coffee and the staff didn’t clean the fireplace; the faucet is leaking, the shower is running, the mattress is stale, and despite having a fireplace, there were no firewood.

The apartment met our expectations, with a pleasant setting, typical Pelion architecture, and a lovely fountain by Alexandros Papadiamantis. The parking access was very difficult, with a narrow paved path.

The surroundings were stunning, the pool was soothing, and the service was excellent and friendly. However, the sun exposure was not very good, and the neighbors upstairs seemed to be moving; every step, even light, was felt and heard loudly.

The hotel was very clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. We had a great time and will definitely come back again!
