The rooms are lovely and spacious, the breakfast selection is amazing with plenty of vegetarian options, the vibe feels very homely and the family is friendly. The location is great, a pub is a short walk away and it’s very central inside the national park.

Loved the location. Caroline very welcoming. Room and breakfast room tastefully decorated.778 Spotless shower room. Very comfortable bed. Nice to sleep with the window open and smell the greenery from the moors. A great choice for breakfast. Husband had a veggie cooked breakfast with everything sourced locally. I had a very large bowl of porridge with cinnamon, brown sugar and honey - delicious. All was perfect for our overnight stay

The property is well kept and the room had a comfortable bed and delicious breakfast with homemade bread. Locally made preserves were for sale. A pub for food is just 50 yards away. There’s just enough car parking at the back, but the road outside was quite if needed. The hosts were very friendly. I would have given full marks, but my particular room didn’t have a proper chair to sit in if I wanted to read, as there was no guest sitting room.

The owners were very kind—they let me dry my wet hiking gear (clothing and boots) in their boiler room overnight. My room was quiet and the vegan breakfast was excellent and prompt, but discuss quantities in advance because the portion sizes are very generous. The location is great for hiking and easy to find—there is free parking with the property and you’re given a key so it’s easy to come and go if you want to go for morning or evening walks. The mattress was comfortable. The pillows felt far too soft for me, so my head felt unsupported—this made it difficult to sleep. I also felt that the duvet was too thick for the time of year. Together, this meant that my sleep was less restful than I had hoped.
