This accommodation is truly unique. It’s only 4 km from Aix‑les‑Bains, far from any town—just a few hundred meters of narrow, gravel road. The building itself is a very old house with a courtyard where you can park for free, wooden floors, antique furniture, old doors, and vintage bathrooms, all exuding a historic atmosphere. Francoise and Jean‑Michel’s hospitality, courtesy, and kindness are also very old‑school. The room is huge, filled with antique furnishings, and fully equipped. The bathrooms are spacious, though old, including the plumbing. The creaky doors, occasional nighttime noises, and other quirks are part of the charm; everything is accepted as it is. In the morning, breakfast is served in a large, ancient room, with a hearty spread prepared by Jean‑Michel, including excellent bread. There’s nothing to complain about. If you enter this world, you have to take it as it is, even the staircase to the room—no elevator, but it’s wide and easy to use. The old faucets work fine.
