The houseboat’s location is a bit special. There were a few startup issues: the toaster blew a fuse and the gas for cooking/showering ran out. The person in charge quickly solved the problem. A minor blemish on an otherwise uniquely cultured stay that isn’t ordinary.

“Experience was great but could use improvement.”

I enjoyed the view and staying on a houseboat. The staff were lovely and eager to help, even preparing the place so I could check in early. The toilet didn’t work properly, my bedding wasn’t clean, the duvet cover was dirty, the toaster didn’t work, and the shower area was not clean. I think it needs some work. Also the tent upstairs got soaking wet when it rained. I was at this boat six years ago, and it was docked in a different position which made everything better; it’s not pleasant to stare at the mud instead of the view. My suggestion is to maybe change that tent to something people can watch the stars with, which may bring in more guests, and maybe include canoeing with the experience, because we couldn’t fish since the boat was in a strange position.

Location, location, location… right on the water. Secure parking. Piping hot shower. Adequate loo considering it’s a houseboat. Lovely deck for sundowners and morning coffees. Super comfy beds and great luxurious linens and towels. Restaurants close by. Perfect for heading into Addo Elephant Park. It’s a bit noisy from the highway, and the loo was a bit difficult to flush.
