A country inn full of character, a bar, beer garden, and a decent breakfast room made the stay enjoyable. The room was spacious and stylish, though the bathroom layout raised concerns, and the bed was comfortable. We stayed during the third heatwave of the summer and couldn’t open the windows. The Dyson fan didn’t oscillate and just pushed hot air around the room. Room 2 faced a busy junction; the single‑glazed windows let traffic noise in, waking us from 5 am. There was no place to hang used towels— a Victorian‑style rack would have helped. The bathroom was oddly placed inside the room, with the toilet in a tiny separate “cupboard”; water splashed onto the floorboards, and the shower light turned on automatically with the toilet light, disturbing one partner when the other used the toilet at night.
