The room I received was far smaller than advertised, felt suffocating, had smaller windows, and didn’t match the photos or description; the listing promised a double room with both a shower and bathtub, but the bathtub or tap was faulty and this was not disclosed before payment. I was shown different rooms, yet the one I booked was never properly presented. The property later claimed the booked room was available and that I had refused to view it. There was no visible security and the property sat on a roadside corner, raising safety concerns. I didn’t stay there and had to pay for alternative accommodation, effectively paying twice for an important commitment in Cape Town. Despite the material discrepancy, the property refused a refund. I have photos, screenshots, payment records, and written communication to support my claim, and I still believe a full refund is warranted.
