The hotel features simple studios and executive rooms with flat-screen TV, fridge, tea/coffee maker, and air conditioning. Mackay Marina, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, is a 12-minute drive away, providing easy access to scenic attractions.

The spot was perfect, I checked out at 5.30 am and the bed was fantastic; the room was spacious enough, and even though the motel is old, it appears well maintained. With 45 years in hospitality across all states—having worked at Mercury Holiday Inn, family‑owned places in Canberra, Longreach, Emerald, Townsville, and more—I’ve overseen staff and laundries, so I can tell the work is done properly and you’ll be happy with the staff you have. All was great; I really enjoyed my stay, and guest in no 11 was very nice for the price. I’d stay again.

The rooms were spotless and the spot is perfect if you’re in town for business. Parking for a work truck (3m x 8m) was convenient and the staff were very helpful.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful, but the place clearly needs an overhaul. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, rusty spots in the bath were hazardous and impossible to clean, paint was peeling off the tiles, and front‑room traffic noise was constant.

The baby curls in the garden, but the place has never been invested in since it was built; it needs painting, redecorating, cleaning, and updating.
