“Goede kamer. Slecht eten”
I was happy that the hotel was dog‑friendly all the way to breakfast and that the room was huge and spotless. The food at the restaurant was awful and far too pricey, and the check‑in time of 17:00 was unacceptable. We arrived at 14:30 after a long journey and had to search the village for a place that would let us drink and accept our dogs, driving around for two hours before finally finding something. When we just wanted to rest, the restaurant’s dishes were a total waste of 48 €; everything was a large‑kitchen style item reheated in the oven. I can’t see why anyone in the past liked this food, because they never went to good restaurants. The chef couldn’t even make a sabayon; it was crème anglaise from a packet of cold nectarines. After we complained to the waiter, he returned with the same pot reheated in the oven. Disgusting for 48 €. The chef laughed us off, saying that’s how it’s done, which I found unacceptable. Even the locals come in their hats, socks, and slippers to eat, which I personally can’t stand. That’s why I’d just stay in my bathrobe. I understand why they allow dogs, because once you wander around the village you’ll see why. Not my type of place.
The room was new, large, and welcoming; the staff were helpful and professional, and there were options to choose from for different services (breakfast and restaurant). The only downside was the value for money of the breakfast.
“Top, propre!”
Everything was fine, nothing to mention.
The stay was excellent, the room was spacious and clean, the food was delicious, the breakfast was cheerful, and the staff were very friendly.
The restaurant was very good, clean, and modernly furnished.
