The mansard roof. Few places to put things, both in the room and in the bathroom. No way to adjust the heating, it was a bit too hot. Sink clogged.

Located 4 km off Route 1 on a sheep farm, Guesthouse Nypugardar offers bright, simple rooms with views of Hornafjörður Fjord and Iceland’s highest peak, Hvannadalshnúkur. Shared bathrooms, free public‑area Wi‑Fi, and a common room with flat‑screen TV and DVD player complement a home‑cooked breakfast and lamb dinner buffet. Nearby attractions include Hólmi Zoo (5 km) and Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon (47 km).

Magic. Nothing else.

The room was lovely, spacious, and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was great with warm crusty fresh bread, many toppings, fruits, and yoghurt (coffee was horrible though!). The shower rail is broken, so it’s a hand‑held shower—awful and not in line with the price point of this guesthouse. This is a comment that applies to several other places we stayed in Iceland, but for this money anywhere else in the world you would get the simple pleasure and convenience of a kettle and small fridge in the room, and likely also a TV. You have to go up to the main building to make a hot drink—okay for us because we had good weather, but in some Iceland weather this would be miserable!

Everything is great at this Guesthouse, and the manager is super friendly! For dinner, I recommend the burger with meat that comes from the farm—an absolute marvel.

La taille de la chambre, l'accueil, la belle vue et la qualité du petit déjeuner. Peu d'équipements dans la chambre
