A cozy pub with friendly hosts (and chatty locals) and clean, comfy accommodation. Good value, home‑cooked dinners and breakfast with plant‑based options. A great base to explore the area.
“Friendly pub with clean rooms. Would stay again if in the area”
The staff welcomed me warmly, the room and shower were spotless, and the spot was great for a one‑night stop on our trip; the menu was reasonable and the food tasty. The bar felt a bit dim and unwelcoming, but the young lady behind the bar was very friendly.
It’s a lovely, quiet pub set in a beautiful location; the hosts were friendly and helpful. The towels could have been a bit larger.
“A very welcoming landlord and friendly locals ! Had a great night 👍😃”
I grabbed breakfast on my own and there was nothing I didn’t like.
“If you like quiet villages with a friendly quirky pub then this is definitely the place for you.”
The couple running the place were friendly, the homemade food was good, the beer selection was excellent with plenty of ales for those who enjoy them, and the bar area was very quirky. The room had no TV and the village was very quiet—there’s only one pub for food, which might appeal to some, but I had expected a town since I searched for Machynlleth.
